Credit and Payment Policy

There are a number of separate charges associated with your surgical procedure.  You MAY receive charges from several companies.

  1. Anesthesia – fee for anesthesia services
  2. Your surgeon’s office – his/her fee for performing your surgery.
  3. Your pathologist – services for tissue specimens removed during surgery requiring further examination.
  4. An extended home health care service.

Full payment is due within 60 days from your date of service.  Please contact your insurance company directly if you experience any delays.  YOU are responsible for guaranteeing payment on your account and being aware of your individual policy restrictions and benefits. Please contact us if you would like information about our financial hardship or charity care program.

Your insurance company, including Worker’s Compensation, auto (no fault) and personal injury, is legally responsible to you.  Our relationship is with you, our patient, not your insurance company.  Consequently, all charges incurred are your responsibility.  The obligation to assure payment in a timely manner lies with you regardless of what your insurance company chooses to do.  You should normally receive a response from your insurance company within 30 days of your date of service.  If you experience a delay, it is expected that you contact your insurance company to check the status of your claim and to expedite payment.  Please call our Business Office at 415-346-1218 if you encounter a problem with your insurance company and need our assistance.

Presidio’s policy is to turn over to a collection agency all accounts which are delinquent.  You will be responsible for any collection fees that are incurred.

Payment Options

For those patients who may need to space out their balance over several installments, Presidio Surgery Center offers Care Credit, see our FAQ below for more information.

What is Care Credit?
CareCredit is a personal line of credit for healthcare treatments and procedures for your entire family, including your pets. It works like a credit card but it has two advantages. It can only be used for healthcare services and you can get No Interest* financing every time you use it. Simply pay your minimum monthly payment and pay off the entire balance by the end of your promotional period and you pay No Interest. If you need more time to pay for your procedure, you can take advantage of our extended payment plans with low, fixed interest rates.

Where can I use care credit?
Your CareCredit card can be used at over 100,000 participating healthcare practices nationwide for services including LASIK, Veterinary, Dentistry, Cosmetic Treatments, Cosmetic Surgery, Hearing Care and more. Once you have CareCredit you can use it over and over without reapplying for you, your family, and even your pets!

How is Care Credit different from Master Card or Visa?
Save your consumer credit cards for household or unplanned expenses! Unlike your Visa or MasterCard, CareCredit is exclusive for healthcare services and you can get No Interest* financing every time you use it. If you need more time to pay for your procedure, you can take advantage of our extended payment plans with low, fixed interest rates.

How Can I apply for care Credit?
You can apply online, call us toll free at (800) 677-0718 or download and print the application and take it to your healthcare provider. The application is quick and easy, and after it’s submitted, you’ll instantly learn if you’re approved.
